고등학생의 자아존중감과 진로계획이 학업성취도에 미치는 영향 분석

Impact Analysis of High School Students’ Self-Esteem and Career Plan on Academic Achievement

이 연구의 목적은 지방의 인문계 고등학교 학생들의 자아존중감과 진로계획의 여부, 희망직종간의 관계 분석을 수행한 후, 이들이 학생들의 학업성취도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 분석하여 고등학교 학생들의 진로지도에 대한 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 특히, 자아존중감과 진로계획에 대한 여부간 상호작용 효과가 있는지를 살펴 진로지도 방법을 모색한다. 이를 위해 J시의 A고등학교 학생들 126명을 대상으로 하여 5일간 설문조사를 실시하고 이를 근간으로 성별 차이점과 관계분석을 t-검정 및 다중회귀분석을 이용하여 결과를 제시한다. 연구결과로는 여성이 남성보다 진로계획에 대해 더 많은 관심을 갖고 있었고, 학업성취도와 진로계획 간에는 서로 유의미한 상관관계를 가지고 있었다. 학생들의 학업성취도를 높이려면 개인이 어떤 일을 잘 수행할 수 있다는 신념이나 자신에 주어진 임무를 잘 수행할 수 있다는 자신감을 바탕으로 하는 자아존중감에 대한 교육이 선행돼야 할 것이며 학생들의 진로에 대한 교육과 상담을 통해 학생들의 진로계획을 설정한다면 학업성취도에 유의미한 영향을 미칠 것이다.

The aim of this paper is to explore the relationship among self-esteem, career plan presence, and wanted type of occupations of high school students. And then, we analyze how they affect the students academic achievements in order to provide ways for career guidance of the high school students. In particular, we examine if there exists an interaction effect between self-esteem and career plan presence for finding better career counselling. In order to achieve these research objectives, we surveyed on 126 A High School students at J City for 5 days. We performed correlation analysis, t-test, and multiple regression analysis based on the surveyed data to examine if there exist any differences between male and female students. As the research results, there existed a positive correlation between self-esteem and career plan presence. And, the female students had more career plans than the male students. However, there did not exist statistically meaningful result in other factors. In order to improve the students’ academic achievements, the education on having self-esteem should be preceded. In addition, if students set up their career plan by performing career education and counselling, then they have higher academic achievement levels than before.
