STEAM 교육에 대한 중등교사의 인식과 연수 만족도

Secondary School Teachers Perception on STEAM Education and Their Satisfaction on Teachers Training Program

이 연구의 목적은 STEAM 교육에 대한 중등 교사들의 인식을 조사하기 위한 것이다. 또한 수업 만족도와 직무연수 만족도에 대해서 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이 연구는 중등 교사 37명을 대상으로 이루어졌다. 교사들의 인식 조사는 STEAM 교육 프로그램을 적용하기 전에 실시되었다. 조사 결과 교사들은 STEAM 교육에 대한 기본적인 내용은 알고 있으나 인식 수준이 높지는 않은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 STEAM 교육의 주요 목표는 학생들에게 융합적 사고를 함양시키기 위한 것이라고 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 STEAM 교육을 실시하는 데 있어서 과학반 활동 등을 활용하는 것이 바람직하다고 응답하였다. STEAM 교육 프로그램 적용 후 실시된 수업 만족도 조사에서 대부분의 교사들이 만족하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 STEAM 관련 직무연수에 대해서도 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 앞으로 STEAM 교육에 대한 중등 교사들의 인식을 높이고 STEAM 교육을 활성화하기 위해 STEAM 교육 프로그램과 다양한 교수 학습 방법의 개발과 교사 연수 프로그램 강화 등이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate secondary school teacher s perception on STEAM education. Also it was to analyze their satisfaction on insruction and teachers training program. The subjects of this study were 37 secondary school teachers. The survey on teacher s perception was conducted prior to application of STEAM education program. The result of survey showed that teachers knew the basics about STEAM education, but the level of awareness was not high. Also development of integrated thinking was recognized main purpose of STEAM education by them. Especially teachers answerd that science club activity was effective in the application of STEAM education. In the result of satisfaction survey on instruction, the level of teachers satisfaction was high. In future, in order to increase teachers perception on STEAM education and invigorate the STEAM education, it is necessary to develop STEAM education program and various teaching-learning methods, reinforcement of teachers training program.
