The Pedagogical Implications from the United States K-12 Computer Education Curriculum Revision

미국은 급격하게 변화하는 환경에 맞추어 2011년에 컴퓨터교육 교육과정을 개편하였다. 전 세계 산업 및 고용 구조의 변화와 삶의 양식이 새로운 패러다임으로 바뀌는 환경에 대응하여, 컴퓨터활용 중심 교육에서 계산적 사고(Computational Thinking)를 기반으로 한 교육과정으로 개편하였다. 우리나라도 2009 개정 교육과정이 고시되었다. 그러나 정보화사회에 대비한 컴퓨터 교육에서 벗어나지 못하고, 전통적인 학습 방법을 중심으로 한 컴퓨터활용 능력 향상에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 정보사회에 적합한 컴퓨터교육을 위하여 미국의 컴퓨터교육 시사점을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 우리나라의 컴퓨터교육 방안을 제시한다.

The United States has reformed Computer Education Curriculum to cope with the rapidly changing environment of the computer education since 2011. Their curriculum has been reorganized on computational thinking to boost creative power beyond the training level for computer use, in response to the changing lifestyle and employment structure of the world industry growing into a new paradigm, We also have presented the 2009 Revised Curriculum but it has still focused on how to improve the skills for computer use, the traditional methods suitable for the information-oriented society, so that we cannot meet with the information society requiring creative innovation for our future. By analyzing the computer education reformation initiated by the United States, we have provided the suggestions and pedagogical implications for the computer teaching methods in Korea.
