Teaching-Learning Strategies for Social Studies-Science convergence education

This study provide teaching-learning strategies for Social Studies-Science convergence education. For this lesson plan of convergence and work sheets are developed using high school Social Studies-Science-Information textbooks. The theme is relation between development of DNA information and quality of human life. Next, the topics were selected using high school Social Studies-Science, middle school mathematics textbooks, they have life related themes in common. Those are change of human life according to information society, basic energy consumption and healthy body management, development principle of Genetically Modified Organisms and arguments for and against them. So I provide the process of convergence among them. Finally, lesson plan and materials for convergence contribute to convergence education. Learner and teacher will overcome the limit of boundaries among the subjects and synthesize the social phenomenon using life related topics.
