This study is aimed to provide the analysis of the physiological and nutritional applicable area of the textbooks for the appointment examination. We had analyzed the exclusive textbook science of sports competition that was revised in 2009 for the highschool athletes as guideline for the range and trends of the examination and textbooks of physical education for the appointment examination. The contents of these textbooks were compared by year and by item, and the results are as follows: 1. For the physiological application for sports performance , the contents include information about the body changes by exercise, understanding of body organs affecting the performance the understanding of physical changes by the environment during competition, the principles and practices of training on performance. 2. For the nutritional application for sports performance , textbooks contain the information about the exercise and nutritional relationships, the understanding of the energy resources according to the types of sports, nutrient intakes for enhancing performance and recovery, the supplements for the performances. These results were nearly identical to the most frequently questioned area in the employment examinations in 2012 as well as last 10 years. Accordingly the textbook is expected to serve as guidelines for the secondary employment examinations.
