행동활성화 및 행동억제 체계가 역경 후 성장에 미치는 영향: 인지정서조절 전략과 탄력성의 연속다중매개효과

The Effects of Behavioral Activation and Inhibition Systems on Adversarial Growth: Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies and Resilience as Serial Multiple Mediators

본 연구의 목적은 탄력성을 매개로 한 역경 후 성장에 이르는 과정적 이해를 통해 역경에 대처하는 심리적 역량들을 밝힘으로써 탄력성의 증진 및 역경 후 성장을 촉진하는 개입방법을 모색하고 그 기초 정보를 제공하는 데 있다. 아울러 최근 탄력성 연구 동향인 발달적 맥락주의 관점에 입각하여 개인의 기질적 요소인 BAS/BIS와 적응적 인지정서조절 전략으로 구성된 병행 모형을 사용하여, 기존모형들이 지닌 단점을 보완하고 탄력성의 연속적인 과정적 이해를 도모하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 팬텀변수(phantom variable)를 이용한 연속다중매개모델(serial multiple mediator model)을 구성하고 이를 검증하였다. 역경 경험이 있는 30대 이상 60대 이하의 성인 316명을 대상으로 역경경험 질문지와 행동활성화체계(BAS), 행동억제체계(BIS), 적응적 인지정서조절 전략, 탄력성, 역경 후 성장 척도로 구성된 자기보고식 설문을 수행하여 자료를 수집하였다. 이 중 역경 당시의 고통의 수준이 7점 척도에서 5점 이상인 251명의 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과 역경당사자의 특질이 탄력성의 발달에 영향을 미치는 과정에 정서 및 인지행동적 매개변인들이 관여됨을 확인하였다. 한편 BAS/BIS 기질적 특성이 역경 후 성장에 이르는데 적응적 인지정서조절 전략만으로는 그 효과가 나타나지 않았고, 탄력성을 매개로 할 때 역경 후 성장을 촉진함을 확인할 수 있었다.

The purpose of this study was to look for ways to promote resilience and adversarial growth by uncovering the psychological abilities for dealing with adversity through understanding the process of reaching adversarial growth. The conceptualization of resilience in this study was based on the developmental contextualism, a recent trend of resilience research. Accordingly, a serial multiple mediator model comprised of BAS/BIS, adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies, resilience, and adversarial growth was proposed and tested. Data were collected from 316 adults in their 30s to 60s with adversarial experience. Of those 316, data from 251 whose perceived pain from the adversity scored 5 or higher on the 7-point scale were analyzed. As a result, BAS/BIS did not have an effect on adversarial growth when adaptive cognitive emotion regulation was the only mediator. Rather, the effect of BAS/BIS on adversarial growth was mediated through resilience alone or through adaptive cognitive emotion regulation and resilience consecutively.
