Subjectivity on the Multicultural Acceptance of nursing students

The purpose of this study was to identify subjectivity on the multicultural acceptance of nursing students using Q-methodology. Methods: The 28 selected Q-statements from each of 27 participants were classified into the shape of normal distribution using a 7-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using the pc-QUANL program. Results: The results revealed three types of nursing students subjectivity toward multicultural acceptance: Type Ⅰ is Behavioral acceptance, type Ⅱ is Friendly acceptance, and type Ⅲ is Deflective acceptance. Conclusions: This findings can be used as a basis for the design of a differentiated multicultural education according to each type of acceptance styles. This calls for diverse research on multicultural acceptance and the implementation of effective multicultural acceptance education.
