A Review of Researches on Violence in the Romantic Dating Relationship

본 연구는 데이트 폭력을 다룬 연구들을 개괄함으로써 현재 연구의 진행방향을 살펴보고, 후속 연구와 개입에 도움이 되는 방향을 찾고자 한다. 우선, 데이트 폭력의 다양한 정의를 살펴보고, 이에 관한 사회 학습 이론, 제어이론, 비대칭 패러다임을 고찰하였다. 또한 피해자의 성격특성, 폭력에 대한 자기 귀인, 관계중독, 투자모델, 용서를 살펴봄으로써 데이트 폭력 피해자가 왜 관계를 지속하는 지를 설명하였다. 그리고 이러한 관계를 지속했을 시 데이트 폭력 피해의 결과로써 나타나는 우울, 불안 및 분노조절, 스트레스 등과 관련한 연구를 개괄하였다. 마지막으로 데이트 폭력에 관한 중재 및 개입방법을 살펴보았으나, 다양한 원인이나 결과에 비해 개입에 관련한 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이었다. 따라서 본 연구는 피해자에 대한 다양한 중재 및 개입의 필요성을 강조하였다.

Objectives: We studied and summarized existing research results about the violence in dating and our purpose is to give solutions which would be helpful to the victims and the future researchers. Methods: First, we reviewed various definitions of dating violence explained by social learning theory, control theory and asymmetry paradigm. We referred to certain things to figure out the reasons why some victims do not want to break up, such as victim s character, relationship addiction, investment model and forgiveness. We also reviewed how victim s self-esteem fell down and which depression, stress, anger, and fear that they experience. Results: The related research result was not enough considering the number of researches which explain the cause and effect for it. Also, the victims know that they should cut off the relationship with their partner, but the diverse nature of victims and certain factors preclude it. Conclusions: Therefore, the characteristics of victims in dating violence and the reasons, why those victims cannot get away from their relationship with their partner, should be discussed in the future study.
