과학축전 운영 경험이 예비 과학교사의 과학문화에 대한 인식에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Science Festival Operation Experience on Pre-Service Science Teachers’ Perception to Science Culture

이 연구는 예비 과학교사들의 과학축전 참여 경험이 그들의 과학문화소양에 영향을 미치는지 조사하는 것이다. 이를 위해 예비 과학교사 69명을 대상으로 사전검사와 사후검사를 통해 과학문화소양을 조사하였다. 분석 결과 예비 과학교사들은 사전 사후 검사간 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다. 반면에 예비 과학교사의 전공, 성별, 학년에 따른 t-test와 ANOVA 분석 결과에서는 과학문화에 대한 인식에서 유의미한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 이와 같은 결과는 예비 과학교사들이 과학문화 활동 중 하나인 과학축전을 직접 기획하고 운영해봄으로써 과학문화에 대한 인식이 유의미하게 향상되었음을 시사하고 있다. 또한 이러한 결과는 과학교사 양성을 위한 교육과정에서 과학 축전 등 다양한 과학문화활동 참여 경험을 확장시킴으로써 예비 과학교사들의 과학문화소양을 향상시킬 수 있다는 가능성을 나타내고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether pre-service science teachers participation in science festivals affects their science literacy. For this purpose, 69 pre-service science teachers were surveyed through pre-test and posttest. As a result of the analysis, pre-service science teachers showed significant difference between pre-test and posttest. There was no significant difference in the results of t-test and ANOVA according to major, gender, and grade of pre-service science teachers. This result suggests that pre-service science teachers have significantly improved perception to science culture by directly planning and operating science festival, one of science and culture activities. In addition, it shows the possibility of enhancing science literacy of pre-service science teachers by expanding experience participating in various science cultural activities such as science festivals in science teacher education curriculum.
