유아교육현장에서 교사가 경험하는 유아의 사회화와 개별화에 대한 딜레마

Kindergarten Teachers Dilemmas about Socialization and Individuation of Children Experienced in Field of Child Education

본 연구는 교육에서 꾸준히 논의되어왔던 사회화와 개별화라는 긴장하는 두 가지 교육목적에 대한 유치원 교사의 딜레마가 어떠한지 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 유치원 교사 10명을 대상으로 2018년 9월 4일부터 2018년 10월 23일까지 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 교사들은 유아의 사회화와 개별화에 대해 크게 가치론적, 방법론적, 구조적 차원에서 딜레마를 경험하고 있었다. 가치론적 딜레마는 교육의 방향성에 대한 딜레마로 상충하는 두 개의 가치로 인해 교육의 방향성을 설정하는 데 어려움을 겪는 경우이다. 방법론적 딜레마는 설정한 교육의 방향을 실현하는 과정에서 경험하는 방법 차원의 딜레마로, 사회적 규범을 지도하되 낙오와 낙인, 배제를 야기하지 않도록 해야 하는 혹은 자율성을 존중하되 교육의 목표를 달성해야하는 경우이다. 구조적 딜레마는 방향성과 방법을 명확히 설정하고 있음에도 현실적 제약으로 인해 딜레마를 경험하는 경우로 교사 대 유아 비율, 행정업무, 가정과의 상반된 철학 등으로 인해 제약을 경험하고 있었다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 가치의 상대성 차원에서 교사의 딜레마를 공론화하여 교육의 기회로 활용할 필요가 있으며, 실증주의적 시각에서 탈피해 이 같은 교사들의 딜레마에 대한 논의를 보다 확장해나갈 필요가 있다는 결론을 내릴 수 있다.

This study aimed to investigate the kindergarten teachers dilemmas about socialization and individuation, the topics of tension repeatedly discussed had been continuously appeared in discussion of in education. For this study, 10 kindergarten teachers participated and had in depth interview, from September 4, 2018 to October 23, 2018 as the main data collection methods. The results of this study are as follows. The teachers dilemmas can be broadly categorized into axiological dilemmas, methodological dilemmas, and structural dilemmas. Axiological dilemmas means the dilemmas that had to do with the instructions or educational purposes. Methodological dilemmas were related to achieving educational purposes. Structural dilemmas were the dilemmas related to the realization of what the teachers had in mind. The results of the study showed that it is necessary to use the discussion of these issues as educational opportunity in terms of the relativity of values, and it is also necessary to expand the discussion on these issues, moving away from the view of positivism.
