기관 성능 향상을 위한 휘발유와 LPG 혼소 연료 제어 기술에 대한 연구

Study on Fuel Control Technology for Using Gasoline and LPG Duel Fuel to Improve Engine Performance

자동차에 적용되는 연료로 과거 전형적인 가솔린과 경유로부터 친환경적인 가스 연료인 LPG, LNG, CNG 그리고 수소 연료 등으로 변화하고 있다. 특히 경유 차량에서 배출되는 배출가스의 임의 조작 혹은 온도 및 운행패턴에 따른 과다한 NOx/PM 에 대한 경각심이 높아지고 있으며 세계 각국은 디젤 차량에 대한 규제 정책을 준비 중에 있다. 2020년까지 런던이나 파리에서도 디젤 차량의 수도권 진입을 금지를 취하고 있으며 우리나라에서도 2017년부터 노후 경유차에 대해서 수도권 진입을 금지하고 있다. 관련 법규도 제정하고 있으며 이중에 EURO-VI는 질소산화물을 저감하고자 하는 규제로 최근에 화두가 되고 있다. 해당하는 질소산화물 저감기술로는 SCR과 LNT가 있으며 이중에 SCR은 우레아를 환원제로 사용하는데 주로 대형차량에 적용하고 있는데 환원효율이 높아서 NOx 저감이 높다. 반면에 LNT는 주로 승용차에 적용되고 있으며 SCR에 비해서 NOx 저감 효율이 낮은 편이다. 한편으로 우레아를 분사시 일부 반응하지 못한 우레아는 PM을 증가시키는 요인이 될 수도 있기 때문에 최적화된 설계기술이 필요하다. 본 연구를 통해서 GDI가 장착된 가솔린 자동차를 개조하여 LPG 연료를 겸용으로 사용하고자 유해한 배기가스를 줄이고 자동차 연비를 향상시키기 위한 연료 제어 기술을 개발하고자 한다.

The fuel used in automobiles is changing from conventional gasoline and diesel fuel to environmentally friendly LPG, LNG, CNG and hydrogen fuel. In particular, there is an increased awareness of the excessive operation of exhaust gas emitted from diesel vehicles or excessive exhaust gas due to temperature and operating patterns and countries around the world are preparing regulatory policies for diesel vehicles. By 2020, both London and Paris have banned the entry of diesel vehicles into the Seoul metropolitan area. It also establishes relevant laws and regulations. EURO-VI has recently been issued to reduce nitrogen oxides. Among them, SCR and LNT are used as reduction technologies for nitrogen oxides. SCR uses urea as a reducing agent, which is mainly applied to large vehicles. On the other hand, LNT is mainly applied to passenger cars and the NOx reduction efficiency is lower than that of SCR. On the other hand, urea, which does not react partially when injecting urea, may be a factor to increase PM, so an optimized design technique is needed. This study aims to develop fuel control technology to reduce hazardous exhaust gas and improve fuel efficiency of automobile in order to use gasoline vehicle equipped with GDI and to use it as LPG fuel.
