수공업 장인의 문화적 학습과정에 대한 연구 - 통영장인의 학습생애사 연구 -

A study on the cultural learning process of handicraftsmen -Focusing on occupational biography of Tongyeong master craftsmen-

통영은 임진왜란 중 ‘삼군수도통제영’이 설치된 명칭에서 지명이 탄생된 곳이다. 통영은 군수물품을 자체조달하기 위해 관장제 수공업이 발달하면서 공에품 생산지로서 발전하게 된다. 통영은 전통수공예품이 재생산되고 장인인력들이 재배출이 지속적으로 이루어진다는 점에서 타지역과 차별성을 갖는다, 이와 관련된 연구로는 장인문화에 대한 연구와 무형문화재 전승에 관한 연구가 있었고 최근에 장인들의 학습과정에 대한 연구가 진행되었다. 대부분 장인들이 기술을 익히는 과정과 요인에 초점을 두고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 F. Schütze의 서술접근 방식의 생애사적 연구방법에 기초하여 수공업분야 장인들의 생애이력의 과정적 구조를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 장인들의 생애사를 4가지 단계로 분석하는데, 제도화된 진행양식과 기대양식, 경험과 사건의 연속에서 나타나는 주체적 능력이 나타나는 생애사행위의 틀, 내적아픔의 진행경로와 가지정체성의 변화과정으로 살펴보았다. 장인들이 전통기술의 숙련과 전승이라는 직업 정체성, 제자를 양성해야하는 교육학적 전문성과 새로운 수공예품을 재창출해야하는 예술가로서의 정체성에 대한 균형을 유지할 수 있도록 정책적 노력이 뒷따라야 하고 이들의 전문능력에 대한 사회적 지지가 도움이 될 것으로 사례된다.

The name of Tongyeong was derived from the name establishing samgunsudotongjeyeong during the Japanese invasions of Korea. Tongyeong was developed as an area of production while governmental manual industry was developed so as to raise war supplies for themselves. Tongyeong is different from other areas because traditional handicrafts are reproduced and master craftsmen are released again and again. As a study related to it, there were study on the culture of craftsmen and study on transmission of intangible culture and the study on learning process of craftsmen was recently conducted. They actually focus on the process and reasons that most of craftsmen learn skills. The purpose of this research is to examine process structure of life history of craftsmen in manual industry based on F. Schütze s life history research of descriptive approach. Life history of craftsmen was analyzed by 4 stages and it examined systematized progress style and expected style, frame of life history behavior including subjective abilities in continuous experiences and accidents and progress path of internal pain and changing process of self-identity. Political efforts should be following so that craftsmen can maintain the balance among the occupational identity which is skillfulness and transmission of traditional skills, pedagogical professionalism to cultivate disciples and identity of artist who must recreate new handicrafts. And, social support to their professional abilities should be helpful.
