방과 후 학교에서의 통합예술치료의 의미와 필요성 고찰

A Review of the Meaning and the Need of Integrated Arts Therapy in After-School

우리나라 방과 후 학교는 학생의 인성 및 창의성을 함양하기 위한 목적으로 시행되었으며, 현재 교육부 주요 교육정책으로 자리잡아가고 있다. 2014년을 기준으로 참여 학생비율이 99.9%에 달할 정도로 공교육기관에서 이에 대한 교육이 심화되고 있다. 학생들의 전인적인 접근을 요구하는 방과 후 학교의 특성을 감안한다면, 음악. 미술, 무용, 연극, 영화 등과 같은 예술 활동을 매개로 통찰과 자기표현, 개인성장과 변화를 통해 조화로운 삶의 영위할 수 있도록 방과 후 학교 내의 프로그램에 예술치료의 통합적 접근이 매우 필요한 시점이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 현재까지 방과 후 학교교육과 통합예술치료를 접목한 시도는 매우 부족한 실정이며, 일부 문헌들에서 방과 후 학교에서의 예술치료의 적용 성과를 보고하는데 그치는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 방과 후 학교의 전인적 교육목적을 달성하기 위해 통합예술치료에 대한 의미와 필요성을 고찰하여, 현행되고 있는 우리나라 방과 후 학교 운영의 효율성을 높이는데 도움을 주고자한다. 특히 음악, 미술, 무용 등 예술치료 각 영역의 분리된 개념을 넘어선 미래지향적 통합예술치료의 방과 후 학교를 지원할 수 있는 가능성을 모색하고자한다.

After-school has been conducted for the purpose of cultivating the personality and creativity and is becoming as a major educational policy in Ministry of Education recently. Additionally, there are after-school education student participation rate in public institutions are active enough to reach 99.9%. Given the characteristics of after-schools that require holistic approach for the students, the integrated approach of art therapy is a very necessary time to help students to live a harmonious life through personal growth and self-expression, insight, and personal change mediated by art activities such as art, theater, dance, motion, and music. Nevertheless, the attempt to apply integrated arts therapy to the after-school education so far is very rare and a little researches report about the application results of arts therapy in after-school. This study seeks to help improve current efficiency of after-school operations in our country to reach the holistic educational objectives of the after-school by reviewing the meaning and need of integrated arts therapy in after-school, Especially, this study will explore future-oriented and futuristic potential of arts therapy beyond the academic concept applied separately as the treatments with music, art, dance, and etc.
