본 연구는 문화예술이 창의성 신장에 기여한다는 점에 근거하여 문화예술 기반 학교 창의성 지수 개발의 이론적 근거와 개념 및 지수의 체계를 제안하는데 목적을 둔다. 선행 연구에 대한 조사를 통해 문화예술은 영역 내적 측면에서뿐만 아니라 삶의 일반 영역에서의 창의성 신장에 기여한다는 점, 최근의 창의성 개념은 개인과 조직 및 환경의 상호작용으로 정의된다는 점, 이에 따라 학교 창의성 평가는 지수에 의한 방식으로 이루어질 때 집단의 특성이 보다 입체적으로 드러날 수 있다는 점이 도출되었다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구는 문화예술기반 학교 창의성 지수를 ‘문화예술의 활용을 통해 형성된 학교의 창의성 수준을 수치화한 것’으로 개념을 정의하고, 이를 위해 학교 구성원과 교육과정 및 학교 환경의 3개 영역 및 40개의 하위 지표로 구성된 지수의 체계를 제시하였다. 본 연구는 문화예술이 학교 창의성에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 파악하고 체계적으로 관리할 수 있도록 이론적 근거와 개념 및 방법적 가능성을 제시하였다는 점에서 의미를 지닌다.
This study is to explore the theoretical foundation Arts-based School Creativity Index(ASCI) and to suggest its concept and structure. As results, arts have domain-general characteristics as well as domain-specific in creativity, hence arts can be key tool for boosting creativity in school. With considering the concept of creativity, creativity has to be redefined as the composite of individual and group and environment. In this respect, the concept of ASCI can be defined as numerically organized form to indicate the level of creativity in school based on arts . The structure of ASCI is to be rendered as 3 sub-indexes and 40 elements, such as Human Capital index, Curriculum index and Condition index. In conclusion, the study suggested the theoretical foundation and possibilities of developing ASCI and the conceptual structure of index. Following its result, ASCI can be utilized as effective tool to verify the effect of arts in school creativity by practical evidence and to manage policies related to arts through the briefly compacted information of creativity.
