일본의 민간미술교육운동이 미술교육발전에 미친 사회문화적 영향

The Sociocultural Influence on the development of Art education by Civil Art education movement in Japan

이 연구는 한국의 미술과교육과정에 지속적인 영향을 미쳐 온 일본의 미술교육발전의 근저에는 여러 민간미술교육단체들의 공헌이 컸다는 점에 주목하여, 그들의 활동상황을 사적으로 고찰, 일본의 민간미술교육운동이 미술교육 발전에 미친 사회문화적 영향을 밝히고, 한국 미술교육 발전에 시사점을 얻고자하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 일본의 주요 미술교육관련 학회와 협회, 연구회의 운동과 활동들을 역사적으로 개관하고, 그러한 미술교육운동과 활동들이 일본의 미술교육의 발전에 기여한 부분을 사회문화적 맥락에서 고찰하였다. 연구 결과, 민간미술교육운동과정에서 일어났던 여러 주장이나 내용은 후에 일본의 교육과정에 반영되어 학교교육에 적용되었고, 그들의 미술교육에 대한 노력과 실천․사고방식의 축적은 미술교육의 발전에 기반이 되고 큰 원동력이 되었음을 알 수 있었다. 일본은 지난 60여 년간, 민간미술교육운동이나 연구회, 학회, 연맹 등에 의해 주도되고 축적해온 미술교육의 지적‧정신적 유산을 후세에 계승‧발전시켜가기 위해, 현재도 다양한 민간미술교육단체가 활동을 계속하며 더욱 체계적인 작업을 전개하고 있다. 이러한 사실은 사회문화적 맥락에서 한국의 미술교육관계자들에게 시사하는 바가 크다.

Focusing on the significant contribution of various civil art education groups in the advancement of Japan s art education that has been influencing the art curriculum of Korea, the purpose of this study is to review their activities and reveal the sociocultural influence of Japan s civil art education movement on the advancement of art education to obtain implications for the advancement of art education of Korea. Accordingly, it reviewed the history, activities and movements of major art education related societies, association and research groups of Japan to examine in the social and cultural context the areas of contribution made by such art education movements and activities to the advancement of art education in Japan. The study result showed that various assertions or contents that occurred during the process of civil art education movement were later reflected in the National Art Curriculum of Japan and applied to school education, and the accumulation of their efforts, practices and way of thinking regarding art education became a foundation and a significant driving force of the advancement of art education in Japan. For the purpose of succession and advancement of the intellectual and spiritual heritage of Japan s art education that has been led and accumulated by civil art education movement or research groups, societies and federations for the last six decades, various civil art education groups are still continuing their activities to carry out more systematic work. Such fact has a significant implication in the social and cultural context to persons related to art education of Korea.
