사관생도가 입학 전 실시한 Neo 검사결과가 사관생도 2학년 시기에 실시한 PAI 검사와 어떠한 관련이 있는지 분석을 실시하였다. 사관생도들이 입학 전 실시한 Neo검사에서 신경성(N)이 높을수록 생도 2학년 시기의 PAI 검사 타당성척도에서 비일관적 반응(ICN)과 부정적인상 반응(NIM)이 증가하였으며 긍정적 인상 반응(PIM)이 감소하였다. 생도의 PAI 임상척도를 예측하는 생도의 입학 전 Neo검사 요인은 외향성(E), 개방성(O), 성실성(C), 신경성(N)이었으며 입학 이전 Neo검사 외향성(E)은 생도 시기의 불안(ANX), 불안관련장애(ARD), 우울(DEP), 망상(PAR), 정신분열증(SCZ), 반사회적특징(ANT)을 예측하 였다. 개방성(O)은 조증(MAN), 약물문제(DRG)를 예측하였고 성실성(C)은 반사회적특징(ANT)을 예측하였으며 신경성(N)은 대부분의 PAI 임상척도를 예측하였다. 입학 이전 Neo검사 5요인은 모든 PAI 치료척도를 예측하였는데 Neo검사 외향성(E)은 생도 시기의 PAI 공격성(AGG), 비지지(NON), 치료거부(RXR)를, 개방성(O)은 비지지(NON), 치료거부(RXR)를, 친화성(A)은 공격성(AGG)을 예측하였다. 성실성(C)은 비지지(NON), 치료거부(RXR)를 예측하였고 신경성(N)은 PAI 대부분의 치료척도를 예측하였다. 입학 전 실시한 Neo검사에서 외향성(E), 친화성(A), 성실성(C)은 입항 후 PAI 대인관계척도인 지배성(DOM)과 온정성(WRM)을 모두 예측하였고 이는 성실하고 친사회적인 지원자가 향후 생도생활에서도 원만한 인간관계를 유지할 수 있음을 시사한다.
This study analyzed the prediction of the Neo-PI(cadet applicants) to PAI(cadets in the second year) for 150 cadets in Military Academy. Regression analysis revealed that the Neuroticism(N) of Neo-PI(cadet applicants) predicted to the Validity Scales(ICN, NIM, PIM) of PAI(second period of cadets). The scores of Extraversion(E), Openness to Experience(O), Conscientiousness(C) and Neuroticism(N) of Neo-PI(cadet applicants) predicted to the Clinical Scales of PAI. All five factors of the Neo-PI predicted(cadet applicants) to the Cure Scales of PAI. The results of Extraversion(E), Agreeableness(A) and Conscientiousness(C) of Neo-PI(cadet applicants) predicted to the all Human Relation Scales(DOM, WRM) of PAI(second period of cadets). The findings suggest that the scores of the Neo Personality Inventory of cadet applicants can predict Personality Assessment Inventory(PAI) of cadets in the second year. Overall, the Extraversion(E), and Neuroticism(N) of the Neo-PI of cadet applicants were significant predictors of cadets adjustment to academy.
