유아교육연구에서의 의례적 접근 : 주제와 관점

Rituals in Early Childhood Education Studies : Topics and Perspectives

본 연구는 최근 교육학에서 새롭게 재조명되고 있는 의례를 유아교육연구 분야와 접목하여 논의하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 의례가 가진 사회적 기능과 연행적 측면을 중심으로 유아교육연구에서 유아 교실공동체 형성과 유아교수학습방법에의 적용가능성을 탐색하였다. 첫째, 의례의 연행성(performativity)이 공동체를 형성하는데 결정적이며 공동체는 의례와 그 안에서 만들어진 정서(emotions)를 통해 발달한다. 따라서 유아 교실공동체 형성을 위해 의례가 활용될 수 있으며 의례에서 행해지는 유아들의 연행성과 정서에 대한 연구의 가능성을 찾을 수 있었다. 둘째, 교육학적 의례는 수업에서 학생들에게 동기부여와 안정감과 질서를 제공하여 효율적인 교실운영을 돕는다. 따라서 유아교수학습방법으로 의례가 활용될 수 있으며 현재 교실에서 이루어지고 있는 교수전략들을 의례의 관점으로 재해석하고 유아교수학습방법으로 의례를 활용한 사례연구의 가능성을 찾을 수 있었다. 본 연구는 지금까지 발달심리학의 지배아래 이루어져왔던 유아교육연구 주제와 관점을 사회학과 문화인류학에서 논의되어온 의례를 교육학적으로 활용할 수 있는 연구 가능성을 탐색하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study was for discussing about application possibility of rituals in early childhood education studies. For this purpose, we examined young children classroom communities and teaching learning methods based on rituals in early childhood education field. First, performativity of rituals is crucial to community formation and communities can be developed through emotions in rituals. So, rituals can be used for formation of young children classroom communities and we can study about young children’s performance and emotions when they participate in rituals. Second, educational rituals can be helpful for students to give a motivation, sense of security and orders in lessons. So, rituals can be used for effective teaching learning methods and we can reinterpret current teaching strategies from the perspective of rituals. Also, we can be implicated the possibilities of early childhood education studies based on rituals. This study has implications for providing new perspectives and topics against early childhood education field have been focused on development psychology for a long time.
