문화예술 체험활동 ‘국경없는마을 RPG’ 참여 고등학생의 다문화경험에 관한 연구

A Study on Multicultural Experiences of Secondary Student participating the Arts and Culture Activities of ‘the Borderless Village RPG Program’

이 연구의 목적은 문화예술 체험활동을 통한 다문화경험이 참여 학생들의 다문화인식에 어떤 효과와 의미를 주는지를 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 영상과 미디어 등 문화예술을 활용한 다문화교육 프로그램인 ‘국경없는마을 RPG’를 2012년 8월 11일부터 12월 15일까지 참여관찰하여 자료를 수집하였다. 또한 이 프로그램에 참여한 12명의 고등학생을 대상으로 2012년 10월 27일부터 2013년 3월 3일까지 심층면접을 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 참여 학생들은 당위가 아니라 체험에 기초한 다문화에 대한 긍정적 판단과 태도를 보였다. 특히 새로운 문화에 대한 다양성을 인정하는 소통적 태도와 다문화에 대해 관심을 갖고 수용적 태도를 보였다. 둘째, 참여 학생들은 미션 수행을 통해 다문화 공간과 음식 문화를 직접 체험함으로써 경험에 기초한 깊이 있는 다문화인식의 변화를 보였다. 셋째, 참여 학생들은 체험적 다문화교육의 필요성을 공감하였으며, 적절한 문화적 정체성을 형성하려는 모습을 보였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 문화예술 체험활동을 통한 다문화경험이 다문화인식과 다문화에 대한 태도변화에 기여한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 다양한 장르의 문화예술을 활용한 다문화교육연구와 체험 프로그램에 대한 정책적 지원을 제안한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine how multicultural experience effects on the high school student multicultural awareness while participating Arts and Culture activities. To do this, we have collected data through ‘The borderless village RPG’ which is a multicultural program using videos, media, and so on. Also, in-depth interview with 12 high school students was conducted from 27. Oct. 2012 to 3. Mar. 2013. The results are as follows: First, the students ought not to change but they displayed a positive attitude to multiculture based on their experience. In particular, they showed admitted attitude toward the diversity of new culture and showed acceptable attitude with interest in multiculture. Second, they seem to have changes in multicultural awareness through mission based on multicultural spaces and food experiences. Third, participants thought the necessity of multicultural education for understanding people from different countries, and proposed the multicultural education method for high school student. As a result, the multicultural experience through Arts and Culture activities contributes to multicultural awareness and changes on attitude. Therefore, political supporting is essential in research of multicultural education and activities program through Arts and Culture utilization of various genres.
