델파이 조사를 통한 유아교사의 다문화 역량의 중요도

Importance of Multicultural Competence of Early Childhood Teachers through Delphi Process

본 연구에서는 다문화가정의 유아가 있는 학급의 교사에게 필요한 여러 역량 중에서 가장 중요하다고 고려되어지는 요소가 무엇인지 델파이 방법을 통해 알아보았다. 최종 4단계 델파이과정을 통해 전문가들이 응답한 가장 중요한 역량은“다문화가정 부모와의 의사소통기술”이다. 그 외 높은 순위에 선정된 항목들은 다문화유아의 가정과 부모와 관련이 높다. 흥미롭게도 유아교육현장에서 수업과 직접적으로 관련이 있는 항목은 높은 순위에 선정되지 않았다. 대체로 전문가들은 다문화가정 유아와의 직접적인 상호작용보다는 그 부모와의 상호작용에 대한 역량을 더 중요시 여기고 있음을 알 수 있다.

This paper reports the results of a Delphi study investigating multicultural competency of early childhood teachers in classroom with multicultural children. Twenty-five experts on early childhood education participated in a 4-stage Delphi consensus-seeking process. Results indicate that components that related to parents of multicultural families were considered the most important components of competency of early childhood teachers. Educational activities such as teaching skills and understanding of educational contents of multiculture were low importance. The results suggest the need for a support to teachers for continuous interaction with multicultural parents, more in-depth research about multicultural programs for mulicultural families.
