전시물 기반학습을 통한 미술관 교육프로그램 개발 및 적용 - 한미사진미술관 사례연구

The Development and Implementation of An Object-Based Learning Education Program: The Case Study of The Museum of Photography, Seoul

미술관에서 가장 큰 교육적 자산은 바로 전시물이며, 이를 통해 학습자는 단순히 체험이 아닌, 깊이있게 사고하고 탐구하는 활동이 가능하다. 또한 다양한 시각매체 중 사진은 우리 생활과 밀접한 연관성을 지니고 있다. 이에 본 사례연구에서는 미술관만이 지닌 가장 본질적 특징인 전시물을 중심으로 이뤄지는 학습인 전시물 기반학습과 그 중에서도 사진을 활용한 교육프로그램 사례에 대해 살펴보았다. 프로그램을 통해 학습자들은 이미지를 시각적으로 읽고 이해하는 능력, 자기주도적 학습능력, 협력적 학습능력 등의 학습효과에 대해 긍정적으로 반응하였음을 확인할 수 있었다. 궁극적으로 학습자 중심환경에서 스스로 학습을 구성해나가는 전시물 기반학습에 대한 심도있는 이해를 토대로 다양한 프로그램에 대한 개발과 연구가 필요할 것이다. 아울러 시각문화를 주도하는 중심적 매체인 사진교육 또한 활성화되어 교육적 가치를 새롭게 하길 기대해본다.

In museum the largest educational asset is exhibits and learners can experience deeply thinking and searching activities through them. In addition photography among various kinds of visual media is closely related to our lives. This article explores the case study of educational program with photography among other programs based on the use of exhibits in museums. Learners learning effect such as reading and understanding of visual images, self-directed learning and cooperative learning has positively shown through the program. I would like to argue that we need to develop and research educational programs based on understanding that learners are able to make up their programs by themselves in learners friendly environment. Last but not least, I expect photography education which is one of leading visual media has educational value in the future.
