유아교육에서 통합교육과정

A Study on the Integrated Approach in Early Childhood Education

본 논문의 목적은 유아교육과정에서 통합교육의 의미를 조명해 보는 것이다. 교육과정의 통합적 접근은 유아교육의 전통적인 접근방법이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 타급학교와 구별되는 유아교육의 특성과 고전적인 유아교육의 개념과 현대적 유아교육의 개념을 알아보았고, 유아교육에서 통합의 의미와 유아교육에서 통합교육이 필요한 이유들을 인식론적 측면, 심리적 측면, 그리고 사회적 측면에서 살펴보았다. 그리고 유아교육의 통합의 근거가 되는 유아교육사상가들의 주요 개념을 고찰해보고, 이런 이론들에서 제안하고 있는 통합교육과정의 구체적인 접근방법들로 주제중심 통합교육방법, 프로젝트 접근방법, 그리고 홀리스틱 접근법을 알아보았다. 그리고 통합교육과정 운영에서 발생하는 통합교육의 이해와 실천의 문제와 잡동사니 교육과정의 문제 등을 고찰하고, 이런 문제점들을 개선하고, 유아교육에 적합한 통합교육과정 모형 개발 방안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to find out the meaning of integrated curriculum in the early childhood education. The integrated curriculum is the traditional approach in the early childhood education. This study examines traits, classical concepts, and contemporary concepts of the early childhood education, the meaning of integration and the necessity for the early childhood education. It review the major concept of philosophers, and methods of integrated curriculum-theme integrated approach, project approach, and holistic approach. And it is to find problems of integrated curriculum in educational practice and to suggest the improvement of the present integrated curriculum.
