문화적 역량과 구성 요소에 대한 프랑스의 담론

The Discourse on the Cultural Competencies and Their Component Parts in France

프랑스에서 ‘역량’의 용어 사용은 큰 관심 속에 확산되고 있다. 이 용어는 직업 세계의 담론에서 먼저 등장하고, 그 후 교육계에 전해졌다. 역량은 지식, 기능, 기술 등의 단순한 소유가 아니라, 새로운 상황에 대처하기 위해 이들을 가동시키고 융합하는 능력, 즉 특정 과제 수행을 위해 지식, 기능, 태도의 총합을 실행에 옮길 수 있는 능력을 의미한다. 이어서 본 연구에서는 문화적 역량에 대한 프랑스의 담론을, 문화적 역량이 왜 중요하고 그 구성 요소는 무엇인지에 중점을 두며 검토한다. 문화적 역량은 문화를 공유하는 능력, 문화를 통해 세계를 발견하고 지식과 자신을 구성하는 능력, 열린 의식으로 다양한 문화에 접근하면서 문화적 차이를 판별하고 이를 비평적으로 수용하는 능력으로 논해진다. 예술교과 국가 교육과정에서 기대되는 문화적 역량은 ①예술적 감성, 사고 역량, ②문화 이해 역량, ③기술적 역량, ④방법적 역량, ⑤태도적 역량의 다섯 범주로 구분하여 각 하위 요소들을 제시하고 있다.

The usage of the term competency in France has spread with grand success. This term appeared in the field of professions and has been transmitted in the educational discourse. Competency does not mean the possession of knowledge, skill and attitude, but the capacity to mobilize and combine them in order to solve a task or adapt to the new situations. This study examines the discourse of the cultural competencies, specifically why they are important and what their components are. The cultural competencies refer to the capacity to participate in a culture, the capacity to find a world, and to construct the knowledge and the self through the culture. They also mean the capacity to access to different cultures with an open mind, understanding their differences and accepting them with critical esprit. In the Arts Disciplines Curriculum, the components of cultural competencies are classified in five broad categories: 1)artistic competencies as a capacity to conceive, project, and make art works, 2)cultural competencies (cultural comprehension) as a capacity to analyze art works, 3)technical competencies as a capacity to utilize materials, tools, media and to put the skill in practice, 4)methodological competencies as a capacity to conduct the documentary research and to master the different steps of the work, 5)attitudinal competencies as attentiveness and participation in the debate with open mind.
