이 논문은 박물관학에서 바라보는 평생교육을 기반으로 하는 문화교육의 개념과 내용 그리고 영역을 표출한다. 박물관교육은 전시나 사건에 관한 지식을 가르치기 보다 경험을 학습하거나 자기학습에 초점이 흔히 맞춰져 있다. 박물관학에서 바라보는 문화교육은 문화의 정체성을 정립하고, 문화적 내용의 전통을 전수하고, 자신들의 생활양식을 습득하는데 뚜렷하게 이바지한다. 요즘 박물관은 교육정보위락을 수행하는 평생학습핵심(life-long education core) 으로서뿐만 아니라 문화교류중심(cultural communication center)으로서 역할을 수행한다. 세계광대역 웹(Web) 인터넷뿐만 아니라 왑(Wab) 교류 체계의 유비쿼터스 시스템으로 인하여, 누구든지 언제나 박물관을 방문하기를 원한다면, 온라인의 웹이나 왑 브라우저를 통해서 쉽게 방문할 수 있다. 미래에 박물관에서 교육 프로그램은 교육전문가들과 표적참가자들 사이에 보다 나은 상호작용의 교류를 위하여 학제간 연구뿐만 아니라 다문화 측면에서 유산해설사, 예술강사, 평생학습 지도자와 같은 전문가들과 함께 박물관 교육 팀을 또는 교육전문가들과 전문가들이 협력을 통해서 기획하고, 실행하게 될 것이다. 결론적으로, 박물관학에서 바라보는 박물관 교육은 첫째, 환경감시기능(surveillance of the environment), 둘째, 조정기능(correlation of the environment), 셋째, 문화전수기능 (transmission of culture), 넷째, 오락적 기능(entertainment)에 중점을 두고 쌍방향 교류가 이루어질 수 있도록 관심을 기울여야 한다. 문화교육은 자신의 전통문화를 대대로 전수하는데 도움을 줄 것이다.

This article represents the concept, the contents and the scope of cultural education based on lifelong education in the view of museology. Museum education is usually focused on learning experience or self-study rather than teaching knowledge on exhibitions and or events. Cultural education in the view of museology may definitely contribute to establish the identity of their culture, to transmit the tradition of their cultural contents, and to achieve their own ways of life. In these days, a museum plays the role of a cultural communication center as well as a lifelong education core performing eduinfotainment1). Due to not only internet as world wide web but also ubiquitous system with Wab communication network, if someone hopes to visit a museum at any time, he or she can easily to visit the museum through Web or Wab browser on line. In the future, education programs in a museum will be projected and executed by a museum educational team or collaboration an educational staff with specialists such as a heritage interpreter, an arts lecturer, a life-long education supervisor in the perspective of multi-cultural aspect as well as inter-disciplinary research for the better interactive communication between educational staff and target participants. In conclusion, a museum education in the view of museology should be better concerned with four educational effects such as surveillance of the environment, correlation of the environment, transmission of culture, and entertainment based on interactive communication. Cultural education helps to transmit their own traditional culture from generation to generation.
