한국 중·고령자의 직업교육요구 실태에 관한 연구： 은퇴 이후 일하기를 희망하는 중·고령자를 대상으로

A Study on Vocational Education Needs of the Middle and Old Aged Koreans: For the Middle and Old Aged Who Need a Job After Retirement

본 연구는 향후 일하기를 희망하는 55세에서 74세의 중․고령자를 대상으로 하여 직업교육요구 실태를 파악하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 이수정 등(2018)의 ‘저출산·고령사회 대비 공공성 강화를 위한 직업교육체계 구축’의 데이터 중 은퇴 이후 일하기를 희망하는 402명의 데이터를 활용하였다. 첫째, 은퇴 이후 일하기를 희망하는 중․고령자는 남성이 여성보다 많고, 학력은 고졸 이상이며, 부부단독세대 및 핵가족을 이루고 사는 대도시 거주자인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 은퇴 이후 일하기를 희망하는 중․고령자의 은퇴준비수준은 낮았으며, 직업교육에 대한 필요성은 상대적으로 높았다. 그러나 직업교육의 필요성에 비해 참여의사는 낮았다. 이들이 바라는 현행 직업교육의 개선점으로 직업교육 내용의 취업에의 실제적인 도움, 시간 확보, 중․고령자 맞춤형 교육 등 현실화에 대한 요구가 높았다. 셋째, 중․고령자 직업교육에의 요구 사항을 살펴보면, 퇴직 직전에 무료로 정부가 시스템을 갖추어 체계적으로 직업교육 기회를 제공해주기를 가장 바라고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과에 근거하여 직업교육 활성화를 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the job training needs of the middle and old age groups between 55 and 74 who wish to work in the future. For the purpose, we used the data of 402 persons who wanted to work after retirement from the work published by Lee Soo-Jeong et al. (2018) ‘Establishment of Job Training System for Enhancing Public Interest in Preparation for Low Fertility and Aging Society.’ The results of this study are as follows: First, the middle and old aged who wish to work after retirement are more likely to be male than female, graduates of high school or college, married couple, and nuclear family residents living in metropolitan areas. Second, the level of their preparation for retirement was low, and the need for their job training was high. However, in comparison to their need for job training, their intention to participate was low. The improvement of the job training that the elderly desired the most was reflecting their current needs. Third, most of all, they wanted the government to establish a system and provide the required job training systematically right before their retirement free of charge. Based on the results of this study, we presented a plan for activation of the job training.
