그룹게임이 유아의 사회적 능력과 수학적 능력에 미치는 효과

The Effect of Group Game Activity for Young Children’s Social and Mathematical Competence

본 연구의 목적은 교사와 유아가 함께 규칙을 만든 그룹게임이 유아의 사회적 능력과 수학적 능력에 미치는 효과를 알아보고 그룹게임의 가치를 밝히는 데 의의가 있다. 본 연구는 경기도 H 시에 소재한 S 어린이집과 H 어린이집의 만 5세 유아 19명씩을 각각 실험집단과 비교집단으로 나누고 실험집단에서는 주 2회씩 8주 동안 16회의 그룹게임을 실시하고 비교집단은 누리과정을 실행하였다. 연구는 사전검사, 실험 처치, 사후검사의 순으로 진행하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 첫째, 그룹게임은 유아의 사회적 능력 발달에 효과적이었다. 둘째, 그룹게임은 유아의 수학적 능력 발달에 효과적이었다. 이러한 결과는 그룹게임이 유아의 사회적 발달과 수학적 능력의 향상을 위한 효과적인 교수－학습방법으로 활용될 가치가 있음을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of cooperative group game activity for young children’s social and mathematical competence and determine whether it is a worthwhile activity. In this experiment, five-year-old children from 2 different child-care centers were divided in two; 19 of children each for the experimental group and the comparison group. The processes of the research were designed in this order; pretest, experimental treatment, and posttest. Total 16 times of treatment, twice a week, were done. The result of the experiment are as follows. First, there was a positive effect on children’s social competence through cooperative group game activities. Second, there was a positive influence on children’s mathematical competence through cooperative group game activities. Therefore, it implies that the cooperative group games could be considered as an effective activity for the development of children’s social and mathematical competence.
