모성 경험의 공유와 확장을 통한 공론장의 형성 과정 탐구

Exploring the Formation Process of Public Sphere through Sharing and Expansion of Maternal Experience

본 연구는 Habermas의 공론장 논의에 기반하여 연구 참여자들이 모성 경험을 통해 보여준 소통과 연대의 과정과 특징을 기술하였다. 임신에서 출산, 육아에 이르는 모성 경험이 개인적․사회적 맥락에 따라 사고의 전환을 통한 성인학습으로의 의미를 지니며, 소통과 연대로 발전 가능한 동력을 지님을 드러내기 위해 온라인 소통을 통한 모성 경험의 공유와 확장 과정에서 나타난 공론장의 형성 과정을 탐구하였다. 이를 위해 온라인 SNS 서비스를 통해 교류하고 관계를 발전시켜 온 30대 여성 7명과의 심층 면담에 기초한 내러티브 연구방법을 사용하여 이들의 이야기에 담긴 모성의 변화발전을 통한 학습 과정과 그들이 연대하는 가운데 나타난 공론장의 특징을 살펴보았다. 연구의 결과는 모성 경험을 통한 학습에는 유사한 경험을 하는 지지집단과의 소통과 공동체 형성이 도약의 발판이 됨을 확인하였고, 이들이 결성한 공동체에서는 Habermas가 제시한 공론장으로서의 특징인 자발적 참여와 자유로운 활동, 공적 집합체의 재구성, 생활세계의 극대화 양상이 나타남을 확인하였다.

This study aims to explore the formation process of public sphere shown in the process of sharing and expanding maternity experiences through online communication in order to reveal that maternal experience, which is conceptualized as pregnancy, childbirth and parenting, has meaning and power of communication and solidarity depending on the context of the individual and social context. A narrative study design is used to gain an in-depth understanding of experiences of 7 women in their thirties with children. Their experiences carry learning process through change development of motherhood and the formation process of public sphere in solidarity. The results suggest that learning through maternal experiences had leaping foot communicating with supporting groups in similar situations and formating communities. Also communities that they made had shown characteristics of public sphere proposed by Habermas, which was voluntary participation and liberalization, reconfiguration of public assembly and maximization aspect of lifeworld.
