대학 교수자의 플립러닝 적응과정에 관한 근거이론

A Grounded Theory on University Instructors’ Adaptation Process for Flipped Classroom

대학 교수자들이 플립러닝 수업을 설계하고 최적의 플립러닝 운영을 위해 어떤 노력을 하고 어떠한 지원이 필요한가를 구조적 환경과 연계하여 심층적으로 접근한 경우는 현재까지 매우 드물다. 그러므로 본 연구의 목적은 구조적 환경과 연계하여 대학 교수자들의 플립러닝 적응과정을 탐색하고 이에 대한 실체이론을 개발하는데 있다. 이를 통해 대학 교수자들의 플립러닝 운영의 과정을 심층적으로 고찰하고, 이들의 플립러닝 적응과정을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 플립러닝 운영경험을 2학기 이상 가진 교수자들 10명을 연구 참여자로 선정한 후, 이들의 플립러닝 운영 경험을 근거이론의 방법으로 고찰하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 개방코딩 결과, 대학 교수자들의 플립러닝 운영 경험에 관한 이야기는 76개의 개념, 32개의 하위범주, 14개의 범주로 도출되었다. 그 다음 축코딩을 실시하였는데, 대학 교수자들의 플립러닝 적응과정에 관한 패러다임 모형이 형성되었다. 선택코딩에서는 이야기 개요를 만들고, ‘문제해결 과정을 통한 플립러닝 운영에 적응하기’라고 하는 핵심범주를 도출하였다. 그리고 핵심범주의 속성의 가설적 정형화를 통해서 ‘자기합리화형’,‘수용형’,‘노력형’과 같은 대학 교수자의 플립러닝 경험 유형을 3가지로 도출하였다. 연구의 말미에서는 도출된 실체이론을 토대로, 향 후 대학에서의 플립러닝 지원 노력과 지원체제 구축에 관한 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the instructors’ adaptation process of flipped classroom in university and to develop substantive level theory. For the purpose, 10 university instructors who has at least more than two semesters experience of flipped classroom were selected for this study. This study used grounded theory approach. First of all, the researcher conducted open coding. As the results, 76 concepts, 32 sub-categories, and 14 categories were found. Then, axial coding was conducted. The results of axile coding showed a paradigm model for the experience of university instructors’ of flipped classroom. After that, selective coding was conducted. it was to create the storyline of the experience of instructors’and to figure our core category. The core category of this study is ‘instructors’ adaptation of flipped classroom through problem solving process.’Finally, the study found out three types of instructor’s adaptation such as ‘self-rationalization type’, ‘acceptance type’, and ‘hard-earned type.’At the end of the study, a few issues regarding the establishment of a support system to support university instructors were discussed based on the substantive level theory.
