음악치료의 타악기 공명현상 경험을 통한 시각장애 아동의 정서적 변화

Emotional Changes of Visually Impaired Children through Percussion Resonance of Music Therapy

이 연구는 선천적 또는 후천적인 원인으로 시각의 손상으로 장애를 갖는 시각장애 아동을 대상으로 청각적 음악 자극에 대한 정서 변화를 알아보는데 목적을 둔 연구이다. 타악기의 공명현상 즉, 타악기의 떨림(울림), 진동자극이 시각장애 아동의 정서에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 연구로 “타악기의 공명현상은 시각장애 아동의 정서에 영향을 미친다.”라는 연구가설을 설정하였다. 연구결과 타악기의 공명현상은 시각장애 아동의 정서에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 시각장애 아동의 사전ㆍ사후 정서표현 척도 결과 긍정적 정서표현 점수가 향상되는 것으로 나타났다. 더불어 실험 그룹의 아동들은 북에 귀와 얼굴, 손을 대며 진동을 느끼는 모습이 회기마다 관찰되고 회기가 진행되며 북의 리듬에 신체의 움직임으로 모방하여 표현하는 모습이 나타나며 타악기의 진동이 아동들에게 유의미한 영향을 미친다는 것을 알아볼 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 청각, 촉각의 자극으로 감각을 수용하는 시각장애 아동의 음악 인식, 수용에 대해 이해할 수 있으며, 음악치료에서 타악기의 활용으로 시각장애 아동뿐 아니라 다른 대상에게도 긍정적인 정서에 영향을 줄 수 있는 활동을 계획해볼 수 있는 계기가 될 것으로 생각된다. 이전의 시각장애 대상 음악치료 선행연구는 악기합주를 통해 음악의 심미성과 사회성 경험, 음악이 심리 정서에 긍정적 도움, 성취감 향상을 위한 선율악기 활동에 대하여 발표되었다. 그러나 아직 발표된 논문이 10편 내외로 여러 대상을 만나는 음악치료사에게는 관심을 가져야 할 부분이다. 짧은 연구기간, 적은 인원으로 연구의 결과를 일반화하기에 한계가 있으나 공통된 모습과 음악치료 외적으로 아동과 늘 함께하는 학부모, 교사의 평가를 바탕으로 타악기의 활동이 유의미하였다 할 수 있다. 이 논문을 통하여 시각장애 대상 음악치료의 관심도가 높아지길 기대하며, 음악이 주는 청각과 시각 이외의 감각적 자극이 시각장애아동 뿐만 아니라 다른 대상에게도 긍정적 정서에 도움을 줄 것으로 생각된다.

In this paper, it is expected that the interest of musical therapy for visual impairment increases, and that sensory stimulation other than auditory and visual perception of music will contribute to positive emotions as well as visually impaired children.
