본 연구의 목적은 장애인에 대한 학부대학생들의 태도에 영향을 미치는 사회·인구학적 요소들을 탐색하는 것이다. 연구 참가자는 미국 공립 대학교에서 공부하고 있는 280명의 학부대학생들이다. Attitudes Towards Disabled Persons Scale, Form-O (Yuker & Block, 1986)의 다중회귀분석을 기초로, 유의미한 사회·인구학적 요소들이 발견되었다. 장애인의 차별받는 사회적 지위에 대해 이해하기 위해 재활전문가와 연구자들을 위한 논의와 연구함의를 제시하였다.
The aim of the current study was to explore influential socio-demographic factors of undergraduate college students in their perspectives on people with disabilities. Participants were 280 undergraduate students at a large public university in the United States. Based on the multiple regression analysis of the Attitudes Towards Disabled Persons Scale, Form-O (Yuker & Block, 1986), the significant socio-demographic factors were found. In order to understand the status of people with disabilities as an oppressed group, discussion and implications for rehabilitation practice and future research are proposed.
