Directions and System to Reform Technology Education Curriculum at the Secondary School

The purpose of this study was to develop directions and system to reform technology education curriculum at the secondary school.The study was carried out through related literature review on the international trend of technology education and the problems in the contemporary technology education curriculums. With the literature reviews, the systematic analysis was performed and the revised bill for the technology education curriculums was developed through the procedures of structuring the objectives and contents of the technology education The results of this study were summarized as follows:First, the technology education objectives must be selected for the students to have an interest and concern about the technology, to understand the technological knowledge system, and to have proper technological attitudes with the ability of problem solving.Second, technology education contents should be consistent with the educational objectives and should be centered on the hand-on activity of invention and renovation and hand-on activity of technology world in order to cultivate the high thinking abilities about technology. In this study, technology world contains the contents of the information and communication, production, transportation, and bio-related technology systems.
