저경력 기술교사의 구조물 설계 및 제작 체험활동에 관한 사례 연구

A Case Study on Structure Design and Making Activities of Early Career Technology Teachers

이 연구의 목적은 저경력 기술교사의 구조물 설계 및 제작에 관한 체험활동에 대한 현황과 교육적 요구를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 5년 이하의 경력을 가진 기술교사 6명을 대상으로 개방형 설문조사와 심층 인터뷰를 하였다. 질문을 위한 문항은 문헌고찰과 현장 교사의 검토를 통하여 최종 개발하였다. 설문지는 e-mail을 이용하여 이루어졌으며, 설문조사 결과를 전사하고 분석한 다음 추가 질문요소에 대하여 전화와 직접 방문을 통하여 심층 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 연구의 엄격성을 위하여 면담자료의 전사, 분석에 대하여 연구 참여자들의 확인을 받았으며, 분석내용에 대하여 동료확인과 전문가 검토를 실시하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 저경력 기술교사는 예산이 적게 소요되는 종이구조물, 트러스 구조물 실습을 선호하고 있었다. 둘째, 학습자들의 창의적 사고력 배양을 위하여 문제해결형 실습을 지향하고 있었다. 셋째, 구조물 체험활동의 객관적 평가의 중요성을 인식하고 있었으며, 추가적인 평가 장치가 필요하다고 응답하였다. 넷째, 학습자의 흥미를 고려하여 다양한 멀티미디어 자료를 활용하고 있었으며, 이를 위하여 인터넷과 교사학습공동체를 통하여 자료를 준비하고 있었다. 다섯째, 전문성 향상을 위하여 현장에서 활용 가능한 실습을 직접 해보는 활동형태의 연수 프로그램을 희망하였다.

The purpose of this study was for to examine the status and educational needs of hands-on activity about structure design and construction for early career technology teachers. This tracked a sample group of 6 early career teachers with less than 5 years teaching experience. The participants were encouraged to write about their experiences in open questionnaires developed by literature reviews and the review of highly experienced teachers and undertake an in-depth interview. First of all, the response of the survey through the E-mail was transcribed and analyzed. Then the in-depth interview was done through the personal visit for more questions. The results of survey were confirmed by participants to retain severity and analysis of the data was examined by the experts. The result of this study was as follows. First, the early career teachers prefer folded-paper structures (bridges, buildings, etc.) because of the limit of budget. Second, problem-solving hands-on activities are preferred to develop creative ability. Third, they recognized importance of the objective evaluation for the structure design and construction and need additional evaluation method for that. Fourth, they prepared the various multi-media materials through the internet surfing and the professional learning community for students interest. Fifth, they are hoping for a hands-on activity type of training program to improve their specialty.
