초임 기술교사의 교직적응의 어려움과 지원에 대한 질적 연구

The Qualitative Study on Difficulties and Support of Professional Adjustment of Beginning Technology Teacher

이 연구의 목적은 초임 기술교사의 교직적응의 어려움, 이를 극복하기 위한 초임 기술교사의 노력, 교직적응을 위한 지원 방안 등을 구명하는데 있었다. 이를 위하여 초임 기술교사 10명과 2016년 7월 25일부터 8월 5일까지 면담을 실시하였으며, 현상학적 연구방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 73개의 의미있는 진술을 추출하였으며, 이들을 36개의 주제로 범주화하였으며, 다시 이 주제들을 3개 영역의 9개 주제 묶음으로 유목화하였다. 연구결과를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 초임 기술교사들은 교직적응 과정에서 교수학습, 생활지도와 학급경영, 행정업무에서 어려움을 겪고 있다. 교수학습에서는 학습자 수준 맞추기, 수업기법의 부족함, 실습 환경의 열악함, 가정 수업까지 담당해야 하는 어려움을 겪는다. 과도한 행정업무 때문에 생활지도와 학급경영을 할 시간이 부족하며, 학생들과의 관계에서 어려움을 겪으며, 학급경영의 방법을 몰라 힘들며, 학부모와의 원만한 관계 유지에서도 어려움을 겪는다. 그리고 처음 경험하는 행정업무에 대하여 부담을 느끼며, 공문 작성의 두려움과 과도한 행정업무로 어려움을 경험한다. 둘째, 초임 기술교사들은 교직적응과정에서 겪는 어려움을 극복하기 위하여 다양한 노력을 하고 있다. 교수학습과 관련해서는 재밌는 수업을 위해 노력하며, 수업에서 다양한 매체나 방법을 사용하고, 이해하기 쉽게 설명하며, 연구회 등에 참여하여 수업 개선을 한다. 생활지도와 학급경영과 관련해서는 학생들을 감정적으로 대하지 않고, 진심으로 대하고, 사랑하며, 학급경영에 대한 노하우를 습득한다. 행정업무와 관련해서는 스스로 찾아보고, 선생님들에게 물어보고, 연수를 통해 업무를 익힌다. 셋째, 초임 기술교사의 교직적응을 위해서는 양성과정, 초임교사연수, 학교현장에서 다양한 지원이 이루어질 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to analysis difficulties and support of professional adjustment of beginning technology teacher using phenomenological research method. The interview for the research was carried out with 10 beginning technology teachers from July 25 to August 5, 2016. According to the result of the research, 36 themes were extracted from interviews with 10 research participants. And 9 theme clusters were categorized from these. And these clusters were divided into 3 domains : difficulties in professional adjustment of beginning technology teacher, their effort for professional adjustment, support for professional adjustment. Based on the finding of the study, major conclusions of this study were as follow: First, beginning technology teachers experience difficulty in adjusting the level of students, lack of teaching skills, poor training environments, and taking charge of home economic classes. And they have little time to work on student guidance because of overwork. They also experience difficulty because they don t know how to manage class and with student relationship. They also struggle maintaining good relationship with parents. They feel pressure by the administrative work which they haven t experienced. They struggle in fear of writing official documents and excessive administration work. Second, they try hard to overcome difficulties in process of professional adjustment. Third, professional adjustment of them will require various supports in technology teacher education program, training program for new teacher, school settings.
