The purposes of this study was to examine the relationship among personal trait, self efficacy, and career interest. The sample used for this study consisted of 285 middle school students. it s formed 134 males and 151 females. To measure self efficacy, the scales consisted of self confidence, self regulatory efficacy and task difficulty preference. Self efficacy scale(Kim, 1997) and Self directed search(Kim, 1999) were administered to samples. The data were analysed by the statistical program of SPSSWIN. The frequency, mean, multiple regression analysis, t test, and Pearson s correlation co efficiencies were conducted to test the study issues. Results of this study showed that the self efficacy of males were higher than female in self confidence, and self efficacy of high parent s educational degree(graduate degree group) was higher than low s. The degree of career interest was significantly different in sex, but that of career interest was not significantly different in school year, birth order, parent s job. Relationship between self efficacy and career interest had little effects. Based upon the results of this study, some recommendations were suggested for future research.
