Design of Educational Space by Applying Systematic Layout Planning for Technical Subject Area of Automobile Department in Industrial High School

The purpose of this study was to design the educational space for technical subject area of automobile department in industrial high school to which applied systematic layout planning. The results of the study were as follows: 1. At the analysis of the stage, (1) objectives of industrial high school education focused on learning how to learn, learning skill and craft, technical thinking skill and problem-solving ability, originality, and so on. Automobile educational space for technical subject area included seven areas and sixteen spaces. (2) activity relationship chart and diagram of the education facility in the automobile department were drawn, which were included sixteen spaces, five close layout reasons, and six closeness rating. 2. At the exploration stage, (1) space relationship diagram of educational facility drawn, which were included activity relationship chart, activity relationship diagram, and space areas. 3. At the selection stage, (1) layout was evaluated: activities of teacher and students, students traffics and safety, and effective usage of space. (2) layout decided on final space layout because activities of teacher and students were most effective, and the second alternative layout were modified. 4. Theory educational space were consisted of classroom, instructors office, tool storage, laboratory, teaching material storage and etc. Practice laboratory was equipped with workstation, equipment, and facilities. Common space were consisted of instructors office, fabrication space, student used space, traffic line air supplied space, garbage dump space, muti-purpose space, parking space, and construction machine driving space.
