발명교육의 정체성 확립을 위한 유사학문과의 비교 분석 연구

Comparative analysis of similar studies for establishing identity of the invention education

이 연구는 발명교육의 정체성을 판단하는데 적합한 방법과 기준으로 발명과 유사학문과의 학문적 특성, 발명교육과 유사학문의 학문적 구성요소 및 교육과정을 설정하고, 이를 토대로 비교 분석한 후 정체성 확립의 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 발명교육의 정체성을 확립하기 위한 과제를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 발명은 과학ㆍ기술ㆍ공학과 달리 독립적인 학문체계가 형성되지 않은 상태이며, 창의성을 토대로 새로운 것을 창조하는 것만을 가치롭게 인식하였다. 발명을 다루는 발명교육의 정체성을 확립하기 위해서는 발명에 대한 핵심적이고 고유한 연구 대상을 설정하여 체계화하고 이를 과학적인 연구 방법과 이론으로 검증하는 후속연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 발명교육이 체계적이고 독립된 학문분야로 발전하기 위해서는 과학ㆍ기술ㆍ공학의 유사학문들을 유기적으로 융합 및 통합시킬 수 있는 이론적 토대를 마련해야 하며, 대학의 학과 개설과 발명교육을 전문적으로 학술 활동하는 학회 설립 등이 필요하다. 셋째, 발명교육의 정체성을 확립하기 위해서는 유사학문과의 차별성을 강화해야 한다. 이는 발명교육이 창조와 개발을 지향하되 발명과 근접한 과학ㆍ기술ㆍ공학을 포괄하는 발명교육론, 발명교육 교수법, 발명교육 평가, 발명교육 교육과정 등의 교과교육학에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 한다.

This investigation aims to provide basic materials for establishing identity of invention education by comparatively analyzing academic definitions, characteristics, academic components, and curricula, all of which are appropriate methods and criteria for judging the identity of invention education. The followings can be suggested for establishing identity of the invention education. First, unlike other disciplines such as science, technology, and engineering, independent academic system has not been established for invention. Only creating something new was recognized worthwhile. To establish identity of the invention education, follow-up studies are necessary, which will define and systemize critical and unique study objects about invention and verify them scientifically and theoretically. Second, a theoretical foundation, which will assimilate and integrate similar studies such as science, technology, and engineering, is necessary to develop invention education as a systematic and independent academic discipline. Opening academic departments in college and establishing an academic society specialized in invention education should be accomplished, too. Third, distinctions of invention education from other similar studies should be reinforced for the establishment of its identity. Invention education has to aim for creation and development, however, at the same time, a pedagogical research on invention education, invention education teaching, invention education assessment, and invention education curriculum, which includes other similar studies such as science, technology, and engineering, has to be conducted.
