이 연구의 목적은 학교 발명교육과 발명교육 문화 실태를 파악하여 미래형 발명 인재를 양성하기 위한 발명교육의 중장기 발전 방안을 제시하는데 있다. 이를 위해 발명교사를 대상으로 발명교육의 인식과 운영 실태에 관한 설문조사를 실시하여, 기존 발명교육 사업의 개선 및 신규 사업 아이디어 등을 포함한 발명교육의 중장기 발전 방안을 구안하여 타당성을 검증하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 발명교육은 응답자의 94.1%가 ‘중요하다’ 이상으로 응답하였고, 입문시기는 74.1%가 초등학교를, 16.4%가 초등학교 입학 이전이라고 응답하였다. 따라서 초등학생과 유아를 대상으로 하는 발명교육사업의 확대가 필요하며, 학교급별 정규 교육과정에 교육목표와 교육체계 등에 대한 기초연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 학교급별 발명교육의 중점 목표에 대한 타당도는 평균 4.20이상으로 나타나 타당한 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 학교급별 발명교육의 중점 목표는 초등학교 입학 이전은 ‘놀이를 통한 발명 친화력 증대’, 초등학교는 ‘발명 개념 인식’, 중학교는 ‘발명 기법 이해’, 고등학교는 ‘발명 기법 적용’, 대학교의 ‘지식재산 창출’로 설정하였다. 셋째, 이 연구에서 제시한 중장기 발전 방안의 비전 및 목표에 대한 타당도는 평균 4.00으로 나타났다. 또한, 추진 과제의 3개 대과제와 11개 세부 과제 모두에서 평균 4.00이상으로 나타나, 전 과제가 타당한 것으로 검증되었다.
The purpose of this study is to suggest medium- and long-term development plans for invention education to cultivate future talented individuals capable of inventing, by grasping present conditions of school invention education and its culture. For this, it performed a survey related to recognition on and management condition of invention education targeting invention teachers, designed medium- and long-term development plans for invention education including ideas regarding improvements of typical and new invention education businesses, and verified their validities. The results of this study are as follows. First, 94.1% of the respondents wrote that invention education is ‘important’, and for the entering period, 74.1% and 16.4% of them put that elementary school and preschool age are proper, respectively. Therefore, extension of invention education businesses targeting elementary school students and preschoolers are needed, and basic researches on education goals and systems of the formal education courses for each school level are also necessary. Second, validities of the primary goals of invention education for each school level turned out to be more than 4.20 in average, which is valid. Thus, for the primary goals of invention education for each school level, ‘invention affinity enhancement through plays’ was set for preschool age, ‘recognition on invention concepts’ for elementary school, ‘understanding invention techniques’ for middle school, ‘application of invention techniques’ for high school, and ‘creating intellectual property’ for college. Third, validities of visions and goals of the medium- and long-term development plans suggested by this study turned out to be 4.00 in average. In addition, those of three main assignments and eleven detailed assignments of promoted ones all turned out to be over 4.00 in average, which verifies that all of them are valid.
