한국 충남대학교와 미국 NCSU 예비 기술교사들의 교사교육에 대한 인식 비교

A Comparative Study of Perception on Technology Teacher Education of Undergraduate Students in Technology Education in Chungnam National University in Korea and NCSU in the USA

The purpose of the study was to compare the perception on teacher education of undergraduate students of technology education in Korea and the USA. Therefore, the study was conducted through qualitative cases surveying. The subjects of surveying were 50 students of technology education of Chungnam National University in Korea and 15 students of technology education of North Carolina State University in the USA. The conclusions of this study were as follows: 1. As a future technology teacher, both Korea and the USA students took pride in their profession. 2. 65.0% students of Korea and 66.7% students of the USA satisfied with their technology curriculum. And about a third students wanted to focus on practice and modern and future technology activities. 3. 70.0% students of Korea and 100.0% students of the USA satisfied with professor’s teaching method of the technology program. Specially Korea student wanted to creative problem activities. 4. On teaching philosophy as a technology educator, Korea students were answered to focus on technological creativity and activity, But the USA students were answered to focus on facilitator for helping or honoring their students. 5. On perception of TECHNOLOGY, Korea students were perceived as ‘technology education’, but the USA students were perceived as ’technology’ itself. For the further study, comparative and qualitative study on professional activities of secondary technology teachers among others countries should be conducted.
