보조공학이 시각장애인 근로자의 작업수행 능력과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향

The impact of assistive technology on occupational performance and quality of life among employee with vision impairments

본 연구의 목적은 시각 장애인 근로자를 대상으로 보조공학이 작업수행능력과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것이다. 서울, 경기 지역의 사업체에 1개월 이상 근무하고 있는 시각 장애인 근로자 30명을 대상으로 3개월간 Job Accommodation Network(JAN)의 5단계 적용 과정에 따라 보조공학기기를 적용하였고, 적용 전, 후의 작업 수행 능력과 삶의 질의 변화를 Canadian Occupational Performance Measure(COPM)과 Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS)를 사용하여 측정하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, t-검정을 통해 보조공학 적용 전과 후 시각 장애인 근로자의 작업수행능력을 분석한 결과 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, t-검정을 통해 보조공학 적용 전후 시각장애인 근로자의 삶의 질은 분석한 결과 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 보조공학 적용 후 삶의 질이 높아진 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 상관 분석을 통해 보조공학 적용 후의 작업 수행능력과 수행능력에 대한 만족도, 삶의 질의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 보조공학 적용 후의 수행도와 삶의 질과 큰 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과에 의하면 JAN의 5단계 과정에 의한 보조공학의 적용은 시각 장애인 근로자의 작업 수행능력과 삶의 질을 증진시키는데 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나, 시각 장애인의 고용을 활성화에 보조공학적 지원이 필수적이며, JAN의 5단계 과정은 보조공학을 효과적으로 적용하는데 도움이 됨을 알 수 있었다. 향후 보조공학의 적용을 통해 시각 장애인의 고용과 직업 유지를 증진 시킬 수 있는 다양한 서비스와 성과 측정 방법들이 개발되고 활성화 되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of assistive technology on occupational performance and quality of life among employee with vision impairments. The subjects were 30 vision impaired workers who had worked in Seoul and Gyeonggi area companies. Canadian Occupational Performance Measure(COPM) and Satisfaction with Life Scale(SWLS) are used for Outcome measurement of assistive technology. The following are the analyzed results of the study. First, the t-test showed that there were differences in occupational performance and quality of life after assistive technology use. Second, moderate correlation was found between the COPM performance score and SWLS score. But, COPM satisfaction score has no association of the SWLS score According to the study results, assistive technology influence on occupational performance and quality of life with vision impairment worker. In future studies, outcome measurement method and assistive technology service should be developed.
