청각장애인 진로성숙 경로모형 연구

청각장애인들이 자신의 특성에 알맞는 직업분야에서 능률적인 직무를 수행하기 위해서는 어릴 때부터 체계적인 직업발달에 대한 이해와 더불어 준비교육을 충실히 제공받아야 한다. 따라서 청각장애인의 직업특성을 정확히 파악하고 진로교육에 필요한 조기개입을 실시 할 수 있도록 하는 진로성숙 진단 도구의 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구는 청각장애인의 진로성숙을 구성하는 변인들을 규명하고, 이러한 개별 변인이 진로성숙에 미치는 영향 정도를 조사한 다음, 이러한 결과를 토대로 진로성숙에 관한 이론적 가설모형을 검정해 보았다. 그 결과, 첫째, 청각장애 여학생이 남학생에 비해 직업개념과 희망직업에 대한 정보정도가 더 성숙한 것으로 나타났고, 학력이 높아질수록 작업준비태도와 희망직업에 대한 정보정도가 더 높아졌다. 둘째, 경로모형에서 청각장애인의 진로성숙도는 희망직업에 대한 정보수준. 직업인식, 진로상담 경험정도, 연령, 직업개념, 작업준비태도 순으로 영향을 미치고 있었으며, 직 업인식과 직업개념 간, 그리고 진로상담 경험정도와 작업준비태도 간에 서로 영향을 주고받고 있었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the path model of career maturity for persons with hearing impairment. A questionnaire using a 4-point Likert scale and a checklist were distributed to about ten special education teachers and counselors who provide career counseling services to their clients and students through the rehabilitation programs in their community as well as a special education setting located in Daegu metropolitan area. Final data were collected and analyzed from 95 persons with hearing impairment. The questionnaire was composed of five sections, the demographic information, occupational concept (CONCEPT), vocational preparation behavior (JOBBEHAV), occupational awareness (JOBAWARE). desired occupational information (HOPEJOB). and career counseling experience (COUNSEL), The variable. CONCEPT. was derived by combining several items from the questionnaire and the checklist. To accomplish the purposes of this study, chi-squares, t-tests, correlation analyses, factor analyses, and path analyses (LISREL) were carried out. LISREL is a computer program that performs structural equation modeling for assessing the measurement properties of psychometric scales. The results of this study can be summarized as the following. First. significant factors affecting career maturity for persons with hearing impairment are ① HOPEJOB. ② JOBAWARE. ③ COUNSEL. ④ age. ⑤ CONCEPT. and ⑥ JOBBEHAV in the order of significance. Second, the results of ANOVA showed that female research participants showed higher career maturity levels than male counter parts, indicating much higher needs for pursuing jobs and expecting immediate future career life. Third. age and years of formal education seemed to be an important predictor variables for career maturity among persons with hearing impairments. Forth. two career maturity path models were examined using Pearson product moment correlation coefficients. The first model revealed to be inappropriate for predicting parsimonious career maturity effects. The second model was best fitted to the statistics related. such as Chi-square (4.37) and Comparative Fit Index etc. (GFI=.98. AGFI=.99. RMSEA=.001). In conclusion. the following research implications can be suggested. First. professionals should put more efforts to vocational preparation activities for students with hearing impairment and to the creation of a good working environments for vocational development. Second. the special education teachers and vocational rehabilitation counselors should have close relationships for preparing students with hearing impairment to the smooth transit from school to work. Career education for students with hearing impairment must be started as early as middle school ages and should be included in the regular class room activities.
