6The Employment policy for the disabled should the located in the center of social policy in that it casts varied meanings to a country. Jobs play very important role to the disabled. Jobs can provide the disabled with opportunities to take various roles as senior, junior, boss, peer, pension-contributor, ext. Disabled people could be able to be included in the mainstream of normal people only though jobs. In the oriental countries including Korea public sector has been had special meaning because governments initiate all the social sectors. That kind of oriental tradition makes public-sector-workers very honorous. Disabled people working in the public sector also enjoy high reputation and positive imagination compared with those of private sector. The enlargement of employment of the disabled in the public sector could be a milestone and a pilot policy of national scheme for the employment of the disabled in general. This research starts from oriental tradition of value carried by public sector workers. It includes korea s present situation of governmental personnel policy for the disabled, a survey on the perception of nondisabled peers on disabled workers as well as on disabled worker s self satisfaction level. Lastly this research previews a new vision and policy implication toward the future.
