중학교 기술과의 핵심역량 함양을 위한 핵심 프로젝트 학습 설계 방안 탐색

An Exploratory Study of the Core Project Learning Design to Promote the Key Competencies for Middle School Technology Class

2015 개정 교육과정에서는 교육목표를 달성하는 수단으로 학습자의 핵심역량을 기르는 것을 강조됨에도 학교현장에서 학생들이 이를 지니고 있는가를 확인하는 평가뿐만 아니라 교사가 이를 길러주는 효과적인 방안에도 어려움이 있는 실정이다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 2015 개정 교육과정이 학교 현장에 적용됨에 따라 초 · 중등학교에서 지도하는 각 교과목은 학생들이 함양해야 할 핵심역량을 안내하고 있는데, 학교학습에서 학생의 핵심역량을 기르는 데 핵심 프로젝트가 있다고 상정하고 이에 상응하는 중학교 기술과의 핵심 프로젝트 학습 설계 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이와 같은 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 첫째, 핵심 프로젝트 학습의 의미와 특성 그리고 절차에 대해 살펴볼 것이다. 둘째, 중학교 기술과의 핵심역량 함양을 위한 핵심 프로젝트 학습 모형의 구성에 대해 살펴볼 것이다. 셋째, 학교교육과정에서 핵심 프로젝트 학습 설계 방안을 살펴볼 것이다. 이러한 핵심 프로젝트 학습은 핵심역량을 강조하는 시대에 핵심역량을 익히는 실질적이고 효과적인 방법을 제시하게 될 것이며 핵심역량을 기르는 교과서의 기능도 제고할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 역량중심 교육의 일환으로 교수법의 변화를 요구하고 있으며 이를 통해 교사가 교과 중심의 지식 전달자가 아니라 학생들의 핵심역량을 갖춘 사람으로 성장하도록 교사의 역할을 강조한다. 이에 따라 핵심 프로젝트 학습은 학교현장에서 역량중심 교육을 실현하는 데 있어 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

Although 2015 Revised National Curriculum puts an emphasis on promoting learners’ Key Competencies as the means to achieve education goal, it is our reality that at school, there are difficulties not just in evaluation to check whether students have these competencies, but also in effective plans on how teachers cultivate them. Thereby, this research provides the guidance on the Key Competencies that students should cultivate for each subject taught at elementary and secondary schools along with 2015 Revised National Curriculum adopted to schools, and based upon assumption that the Core Project Learning is included in school learning courses to cultivate students’ Key Competencies, it is intended to suggest its equivalent plan on how to devise the Core Project Learning for middle school technology class. In order to achieve this research objective, firstly, the meaning, characteristics and procedure of the Core Project Learning will be reviewed. Secondly, the composition of the Core Project Learning Model to cultivate the Key Competencies for middle school technology class will be considered. Thirdly, in school curriculum, the plan on how to devise its Core Project Learning will be examined. This Core Project Learning will suggest substantial and effective method to cultivate the Key Competencies in this era of emphasizing the Key Competencies and it will also enhance the function of textbooks which cultivate the Key Competencies. This research is the part of Competency-oriented education and requires change in teaching methods and this means putting more emphasis on teacher’s role not as a messenger of curriculum-based knowledge, but as a medium to enable students to grow up to be persons equipped with the Key Competencies. Accordingly, the Core Project Learning will be of help to implement the Competency-oriented education at schools.
