STEAM 연구·선도학교의 연계·융합 교육 실태 분석

Analysis of The Actual Condition on Connection·Fusion Education of STEAM Research·Initiative School

본 연구의 목적은 초·중학교 STEAM 연구·선도학교의 연계·융합교육 실태를 분석하여 연계·융합 교육의 활성화를 위한 시사점을 논의하는데 있다. 이를 위해 2017년도 초·중학교 융합인재교육 연구·선도학교 40개의 연계·융합교육 실태를 분석하였다. 대부분의 연구·선도학교에서 연계·융합교육은 모든 학년에서 고르게 실시되고 있으며, 3년 미만 실시하는 학교가 많았다. 연계·융합 교육은 주로 교과와 창의적 체험활동에서 이루어지고 있으며, 융합인재교육 연구학교 또는 선도학교로 지정되면서 실시하였다는 의견이 많았다. 학교에서는 특정 주제 중심 교과 통합, 교과 간 공통인 내용 중심 교과 통합, 핵심역량(또는 교과 역량) 중심 교과 통합 등 다양한 방식으로 교과 간 융합 프로그램을 구성하였다. 대부분의 학교에서는 STEAM 융합 수업 시수의 비율이 연간 20% 내외가 되도록 교과 교육과정을 편성하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며 융합교육 프로그램 평가는 수행평가로 진행하였다. 연계·융합교육의 교육적 효과로 학생 측면에서는 문제해결력, STEAM 교과에 대한 흥미와 관심의 증가가, 교사 측면에서는 수업재구성 능력 향상, 교육과정 이해도 향상 등의 효과가 나타났다. 연구 결과, 연계·융합 교육의 활성화를 위해 ‘연계·융합 교육의 교육적 가치 및 중요성 인식’,‘교과 간 연계·융합을 지향하는 융합 교육의 추구’,‘교사의 평가권 존중’,‘연계·융합 교육의 필요성에 근거한 학교 교육과정의 재구성 노력’.‘학교 내 연계·융합 교육에 대한 컨설팅’,‘국가·교육청·지방자치단체·학교 차원의 다양한 지원 노력’등이 필요하다.

The purpose of this study was to discuss an implication deduction for activation of connection·fusion education. To achieve these aims, this study analyzed 40 of research·initiative school of STEAM in the 2017 year. In most of the school, connection·fusion education was implemented in all grade and implemented mainly in subject and creative experience activity. Also connection·fusion program was consisted of subject integration focused on theme, subject integration focused on common content between subjects, subject integration focused on core competency. In most of the school, the ratio of STEAM instruction is about 20% of yearly instruction time in subject curriculum organization and the performance evaluation was mainly used to evaluate connection·fusion program. As a result of connection·fusion education, students upgraded the problem solving ability, teachers improved an ability of instruction reconstruction. According to analysis results, to activate connection·fusion education, this study proposed the needs which is‘awareness of educational value and importance of connection·fusion education’,‘the pursuit of fusion education oriented on connection·fusion between subjects’,‘respect of teacher’s evaluation rights’,‘the effort for school curriculum reconstruction based on necessity of connection·fusion education’,‘consulting about connection·fusion education inside school’,‘various support efforts of the government·educational office·local government·school dimension for connection·fusion education’.
