청소년의 직업체험활동만족과 시민의식이 진로탐색행동에 미치는 영향

Effect of Satisfaction with Career Experience Activities and Civic Awareness of Adolescents on Their Career Exploration Behavior

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 직업체험활동만족과 시민의식이 진로탐색행동에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위한 것이었으며, 성별에 따른 응답의 차이를 함께 분석하였다. 연구 대상자는 경상남도에 거주하는 중․고등학생 총 735명이었다. 자료분석은 t검증, 상관분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 진로탐색행동에 대한 직업체험활동만족과 시민의식의 상대적 영향력 분석에서 남학생과 여학생 모두 직업체험활동만족과 시민의식이 진로탐색행동에 대한 유의한 예언변수로 나타났다. 즉 직업체험활동만족 수준이 높을수록, 시민의식이 높을수록 진로탐색행동을 더 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 다만, 여학생의 경우, 직업체험활동만족보다는 시민의식이 진로탐색활동을 예언하는 변수로서 상대적으로 더 중요하게 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 청소년의 진로탐색행동 촉진을 돕기 위해 직업체험활동만족도 제고를 위한 체계적 직업체험활동을 조직하고 시민의식을 높이기 위한 다양한 교육프로그램이 개발 운영되기를 제언한다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of satisfaction with career experience activities and civic awareness of adolescents on their career exploration behavior. The discrepancies in responses were analyzed in terms of the subjects’ gender. The participants of the study were 735 middle and high school students living in the province of Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. The data were analyzed using t-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. In the results of analysis, satisfaction with career experience activities and civic awareness were found to be significant predictive variables for both boys and girls. In other words, the adolescents were found to engage in more career exploration behavior if they had higher levels of satisfaction with career experience activities and civic awareness. However, for girls, civic awareness was a more important variable predicting career exploration behavior than was satisfaction with career experience activities. Based on the results of the current study, providing systematic opportunities for job experiences that will produce a higher level of satisfaction is proposed along with developing various educational programs that enhance civic awareness, to encourage adolescents to engage in more career exploration behavior.
