수퍼바이저가 지각하는 음악치료사 전문성에 대한 합의적 질적 연구

The Music Therapist’s Professional Competence: Supervisors’ Perspectives

이 연구의 목적은 음악치료 수퍼바이저가 지각하는 음악치료사의 전문성에 대하여 질적으로 고찰하는 것으로, 이를 위하여 최소 9년, 평균 16.1년의 음악치료사 경력과 최소 6년, 평균 10.6년의 수퍼바이저 경력을 소지한 국내 음악치료 수퍼바이저 10명을 대상으로 심층면담을 진행하고 이를 합의적 질적연구 방법으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, ‘음악치료사가 갖추어야 할 전문성을 구성하는 요인,’ ‘음악치료사의 전문성 발달을 위한 수퍼비전 목표,’ ‘음악치료사 전문성 발달에 필요한 수퍼비전 개입,’‘음악치료사의 전문성 발달을 촉진하는 자구적 노력,’ 등 총 4개의 영역과 23개의 범주가 도출되었다. 이 연구의 결과는 음악치료 교육자 및 훈련가들이 음악치료사의 전문성을 구성하는 요인들을 확인하고 이들을 함양, 발달 및 유지하는 것을 목적으로 하는 수퍼비전의 본질에 대해 재고하는데 있어 중요한 지침을 제공한다.

This study aimed to examine the music therapist’s professional competence through experienced supervisors’ perspectives. To address the research purpose, researchers interviewed 10 music therapy supervisors with average of 16.1 years of clinical experience as music therapists and 10.6 years of supervisory experience as supervisors. The collected interview data were analyzed, using consensual qualitative research method that requires consensual process throughout the data analysis to generate credible results. As the results, four domains including “elements composing the music therapist’s professional competence,” “supervision goals promoting the music therapist’s professional competence,” “the supervisor’s interventions accomplishing the supervision goals,” and “suggestions for further development of the competence” were generated along with 23 affiliated categories. The cross analysis showed that clinical musicianship and self-reflection are the most important elements establishing the music therapist’s professional competence. This study is a qualitative examination of supervisors’ perspectives on the music therapist’s professional competence, and the results provide valuable information on the composing elements/factors of professional competences required for music therapists.
