Computer-assisted navigation can be useful in improving the implant alignment in shoulder arthroplasty. Correct alignment of the humeral and glenoid component is difficult especially in patients with proximal humeral comminuted fractures and preoperative glenoid deformities. Shoulder arthroplasties performed in the patients with nonconcetric glenoid morphologies have shown inferior results and higher rates of complications. The use of a computer-assisted navigation system for shoulder arthroplasty can assist surgeons in accurate implant placement.
