검정고시에 합격한 군인의 학습경험 -육군 고졸 검정고시 지원을 통해 합격한 사례를 중심으로-

Learning experience of soliders who passed qualification exam -Focused on cases of passing the exam through the support of army school qualification examination-

이 연구는 군 복무 중에 검정고시에 합격한 군인들의 학습경험을 규명하고자 시작되었다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 2013년부터 발간 된 군인 검정고시 합격수기 중에 수상작 60편을 코딩, 범주화, 주제화를 통해 합격자의 학습경험이 갖는 의미를 파악하였다. 그리고 2018년 이후, 검정고시에 합격한 5명이 연구 대상자로 참여하였고, 이들의 심층 면담내용을 연구결과에 포함하였다. 연구결과 군대의 특수하고 제한적인 학습 환경 속에서 검정고시 지원 프로그램으로 합격한 군인의 학습경험은 학습자 중심의 학습경험, 관점의 변화를 준 학습경험, 신뢰성 있는 학습경험, 웹 기반 학습경험의 네 가지 특징으로 나타났다. 또한, 연구 참여자 5명의 학습과정에서 다양한 성장과 학습에 대한 인식전환이 드러났다. 군대라는 특수한 학습 환경은 참여자들에게 새로운 삶의 의미를 주었다. 그 속에서 학습 환경은 참여자들에게는 지금까지 겪어보지 못한 새로운 삶의 의미로 다가왔다. 특히, 기초학력 부족으로 학습의 어려움을 겪을 때 동료군인의 이타적인 도움으로 동기부여를 얻고, 지속 가능한 학습태도를 갖게 되었다. 본 연구는 군대라는 특수한 환경에서의 학습경험과 소수의 연구대상으로 인해 일반화에는 한계가 있다. 그러나 청년들이 군 입대 이후 학습이 중단되고 있는 현실에서 군인의 평생학습에 대한 인식전환이라는 의미 있는 사례가 될 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 군인이 새로운 학습을 경험하면서 학습에 대한 관점의 변화를 생생하게 드러낸 것은 유의미한 발견이다.

The purpose of this study is to identify the learning experience of soldiers who passed the qualification exam during their military service. To accomplish this study, In order to achieve the research objective, 60 award-winning eesays since 2013 were coded, classified and subjected to identify the meaning of the successful learner s learning experience. Since 2018, 5 people who passed the exam participated in the study and we their in-depth interview details were included as the study results. The study found that the learning experience of soldiers who passed the exam through the support program of qualification examination in the special and limited learning experience of army were characterized by four factors: learner-centered learning experience, learning experience that gave changes in perspective, reliable learning experience and web-based learning experience. In addition, a change of perception on various growth and learning was shown in the learning process of 5 participants. Special learning environment of army has given a meaning of new life to the participants. Learning experience in it has come to the meaning of new life they have never experienced before. In particular, they were motivated and could have sustainable learning attitude by the altruistic help of fellow soldiers when they had a difficulty to learn due to the lack of basic education. This study has limitations in generalization due to the learning experience in special environment of army and small number of study subjects. However, it could be a meaningful case for a change of perception on lifelong learning of soldiers in reality where learning of youth has been suspended after joining the army. It is a significant finding that soldiers vividly revealed their change of perception on the learning as they experienced the new learning through this study.
