Plasmacytoma is an uncommon tumor that arises from malignant proliferation of a type of B-cell lymphocyte. Most plasma cell tumors present as multiple myeloma. Solitary plasmacytomas are classified as medullary or extramedullary. Among them, extramedullary plasmacytoma consists of 4% of all plasma cell tumors and is found predominantly in the head and neck region. The most frequent sites are the paranasal sinus, nasal cavity, and nasopharynx but, extramedullary plasmacytoma originated from nasal septum is rare. If histologic diagnosis of plasmacytoma is confirmed, all screening tests are necessary to rule out multiple myeloma. The primary treatment is radiotherapy, but surgery may also be required. We experienced a case of extramedullary plasmacytoma that originated from the nasal septum in a 62-year-old woman. She was treated with combined therapy. Systemic evaluations were done and there was no evidence of systemic involvement. After treatment, she is now well without any symptoms and evidence of recurrence. So we report this case with a review of the literature.
