Moses Maimonides is considered to be the greatest medieval Jewish philosopher. He came to be a distinguished figure because he thoroughly dealt with the religious issues within a monotheistic religion, Judaism, through rigorous philosophical argumentations and categorisation. This paper is not intended to be an in-depth study of a single topic. Instead, several important topics will be surveyed to demonstrate how Maimonidean philosophy has been shaped by the influence of his life as the leader of the 12th century Egyptian congregation and current Aristotelianism.
