한국어 교재의 실제성 평정 척도 연구

Developing Rating Scale for Authenticity of L2 Korean Textbooks

한국어 교재의 중핵 개념인 ‘실제성’은 다면적으로 구성되는 입체적 개념으로서, 학문과 교육의 장면에서 서로 다른 의미로 소통되는 문제가 발생하는바, 한국어 교육에 관여하는 소통 주체들이 인지하고 있는 실제성의 의미를 구체적으로 드러낼 수 있는 가시화 도구를 마련할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한국어 교재의 실제성 평정 척도를 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 첫째, 3인의 고경력 한국어 교사를 대상으로 교재 사용 경험에 관한 FGI를 실시하여 실제성 인식 양상을 질적으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 교재에서 주목하는 대상과 가치를 부여하는 실제성이 교사마다 다양한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 그 간의 학문적 연구 성과를 토대로 이러한 경험적 현상을 이론적 관점에서 해석하고, 이를 토대로 세부 평가 기준점(실세계-학습자-교실상황)에 따라 평가 대상별(텍스트, 과제, 단원)로 실제성을 평가하는 입체적인 평정 척도를 구안하였다. 셋째, 해당 평정 척도를 다시 3인의 교사에게 제공하여 한국어 교재 3개 단원의 실제성을 시범 평가하도록 하였다. 그 결과 해당 평정 척도가 한국어 교재의 실제성에 대한 교사들의 다양하고 입체적인 인식 양상을 의미 있게 가시화하는 유용한 도구라는 점을 확인할 수 있었으며, 한국어 교재 평가론의 구축과 교사교육의 실행을 위한 밑작업으로서 의미를 찾을 수 있었다.

As, authenticity is one of the core concepts of Korean Textbook and teaching materials and has multi-dimensional facets, it might be differently communicated in academic and educational situations. Therefore, it’s highly necessary to develop visualization tool to reveal the recognized concept of ‘authenticity’ among the parties involved in Korean Language Education. The purpose of the present study is to develop the Rating Scale of Authenticity. In order to develop the Rating Scale, the study, first, conducted a qualitative analysis on the recognition of ‘authenticity’ by three veteran Korean language teachers, with FGI (Focus Group Interview) on the experiences of using the textbooks. The results showed that it varies between the objects they focused in textbooks and put value in real life. Second, based on academic researches, multi-dimensional rating scale was developed to interpret the empirical phenomenon from the theoretical perspectives and assess authenticity of the targets (text, task and lesson), following detailed rating context (real world, learner, and educational environment). Third, the rating scale was presented to the three teachers to ask them to conduct a preliminary evaluation on three lessons of Korean textbook. The results prove that the rating scale is a practical tool to visualize various and multi-dimensional concepts on the authenticity of Korean textbook.
