본 연구의 목적은 한국군의 발전 과정에서 형성된 직업군인의 일과 여가에 관한 이론적 모형을 기반으로, 양자의 상호관계에서 나타난 역사적 사실과 맥락을 분석하여 그 성격을 고찰하는 것이다. 여가 관련 문헌과 선행 연구이론에서 상정한 전통적 천직모형과 전문직업 모형틀을 중심으로 이념과 제도, 문화와 환경, 조직운영 측면에서 주요 요인들과 비교하여 살펴보았다. 군의 특수성, 외부 환경과의 보편성을 추구하는 두 모형은 각각의 요인들이 미치는 영향을 논의하여 직업군인에 관한 여가의 성격을 규명하고자 하였다. 전통적 천직모형에서는 여가 소외와 고립 현상이 나타났다. 일과 여가의 경계가 모호한 환경에서 통제되고 강제된 군 특수성의 성격을 보였다. 전문 직업모형에서는 문화와 제도 개선, 사회 친화적 환경, 조직운영의 목적과 수단의 다양성 등으로 여가 장애물을 제거하면서 경직성을 완화하였다. 개별성과 자율성 추구, 여가 수단의 다양화와 선용 현상들이 나타나면서, 민간사회의 여가활동에 참여하는 등 사회 친화적인 관계를 형성하는 양상으로 확산하였다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the nature of work and leisure of professional soldiers by analyzing historical facts and contexts that emerged from the bilateral relationship, based on the theoretical model of work and leisure formed in the process of the development of the Korean military. In the literature on leisure and the theory of prior research, we compared the main factors in terms of ideology and institutions, culture and environment, and organizational operation, focusing on the traditional calling model and professional occupation model frame as set forth. The two models pursuing the speciality of the military and universality with the external environment were intended to discuss the effects of each factor to identify the leisure character of the professional soldier. In the traditional calling model, the phenomenon of leisure alienation and isolation emerged. The boundary between work and leisure represented the nature of the controlled and forced military speciality in a vague working environment. In the professional occupation model, rigidity was mitigated while removing obstacles to leisure by improving culture and institutions, social-friendly environment, and diversifying the purpose and means of organizational operation. As individuality and self-regulation, diversification of leisure means and the phenomenon of good use emerged, it spread to social-friendly aspects, including participation in leisure activities in the private society.
